Dear Peter,
In the first leg conditions were very bad. Heard only OK1MS , calling him but because of the qsb I heard only parts from OK1MS call and "k" but never my call.So we did not finish the qso. Second leg we did it very easy. I found activity very weak, maybe the contesters were too tyred after the "big" ARRL participation. Glad to hear again IK2DDR. I couldn't decode one or two stations calling me. Heard always my call and k but never the other side call.

G'day
I was QRV during the first leg of the Dec ATP. No moon during the second leg.
Conditions were not good. Degredation was a little high, QSB, QRM and
Faraday were all playing their part.
I QSO'd with no-one. But it was a great experience, and aided in my
CW decoding ability.
I heard OK1MS and also OZ1HNE. I called them both but no QSO took place.
We had a bush fire that was burning at the time. The fire was about
2km away. We had strong winds, luckily the winds were blowing the
fire away from the QTH. But suffered from QRM due to the number of
appliances (fire trucks) and their motor driven pumping stations.
I guess the QSO success I had during the ARRL Contest (7) made up for
the result in this ATP.
I hope everyone has a safe and a very Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.
Hope 2012 provides you with many CW QSO's and rare DX.
I cannot wait until the ATP kicks off in 2012.

Hi all,
My activity report follows;
Conditions seemed to be poor, during the December 2M ATP. Signals were weak, and were subject to abrupt disappearance. (rapid Faraday rotation?).
I also experienced an antenna aiming problem, caused by a "cockpit error", that caused me to essentially miss the first 40 minutes, of the ATP.

to be heard. In the evening the wind picked up so I had to QRT and lower the array to a safe position.

Hi All!
I experienced a very close lightning strike, several weeks ago, that severely damaged a tree, located only ~ 35M from the corner of my house, and approximately the same distance, from my 2M EME array. I did not have an opportunity to test my system, prior to the ATP, and I was pleasantly surprised that everything actually survived!
I was very pleased to hear a very good level of activity, during my ATP moon window. I only regret that polarization issues, or whatever, prevented me from putting more of the "heard" stations in my log!

G'day to you and all other 2m CW EME followers.
1st WINDOW.
Had family commitment in the morning and so did not arrive home until
0345utc. At the close of the first window the noise started to get
stonger. At 8 deg elevation had S5 noise. The local time was 1500
and being Saturday everyone was watching sports on TV and so getting
lots of local noise. I turned off at 0530 utc.
But had success with one QSO. Could hear OZ1HNE calling CQ on .052,
started calling him at 0400utc. Had some QRZ's but he was working
other stations. At 0424utc could make out some of my call, due to
QSB. Eventually finished QSO at 0440utc.
Could see signals on .048 and .053, but no full decode. Sorry Peter,
I missed you.

Nice conditions this time. Good echoes quite all the time.Sometimes my S - meter was peaking up to "S=7".Participation quite good.Used just a part of the second leg because of the damage of azimouth indicator.So I finished the August ATP two hours earlier.
After my QSO with LZ1DP,the azimouth indicator refused to work and I gave up.
Answered/called DK3NG for an hour but "no reaction".Never heard DK3NG so loud!!!

Participated in the July ATP. First leg only, second leg was no common moon.
Well conditions were very variable. QSB, Faraday, you name it.
But despite the poor conditions (dgrd at -4.5) I did see (SpecJT) a
number of stations (5). Most signals were strong enough for a
character or two to be decoded every period or so.
I could clearly decode OZ1HNE (at some stages without filtering) on
052 and also OK1MS on 048. Called both but Nil QSO
Traces seen but no full decodes were on 045, 053 and 054.
Saw and heard OK1MS tuning up (testing - sending dashes) at the
begining of the ATP period.
Coinditions went down about an hour into the ATP and picked up towards
the close, just as the local noise was picking up due to my elevation
approaching the horizon. It was Sunday Morning here and everyone
turning on their TV's to catch up on the news.
So no points this time, always next time.

Hi Moonbouncers,
I was QRV for the CW EME event in July, conditions were a bit difficult with
deep QSB and faraday offset. As the trees to the east of my array have a lot
of foilage I am down quite a bit on moonrise. This will change come late fall/winter
when the foilage is gone.

My friend Mike SV8GKE and myself took part on both legs of the 1st May 2m cw EME ATP.
Conditions were very poor here in SV land. We managed only one complete QSO with Jorgen OZ1HNE during the first leg of the ATP. We also copied Doru YO2AMU and Stan OK1MS during the second leg but with difficulty due to electric noice from nearby powerlines.
Despite the poor result, we really enjoyed it.

I found that conditions appeared be very poor, during the April ATP, and either the
activity was very low, or I was unable to hear it. There seemed to be little change
in Faraday rotation, during the 2 hour period, that I was QRV, as my echoes were weak,
but consistent, throughout the period.

These were the worst conditions I have seen since we started
the activity events. I called many stations who I normally work
rather easily but I did not even get a QRZ, despite trying both
polarizations. Signas were very weak and unstable.

SM2CEW Revisited: On November 14, 1986, I finally worked Peter on 2M EME CW after many failed skeds. On February 12, 2011, in the Dubus activity I again after ±24 years contacted SM2CEW on random CW, using the same old system. No computer in the shack and hand tracking from a printout! What a thrill!

Nice to be successful for the first time in an ATP session. Had
listened and called in the Dec 2010 ATP - Nil, Jan 2011 missed the
time slot as had guests that left after ATP was over (3AM)

Heard Jimmy SV1BTR since the start of the session. Extremely strong.
Heard Stan OK1MS at about 429. With many calls to him.
Lots of QSB during the session.
Look forward to the next one.

Hi Peter,
Thank you very much for the very easy and nice EME QSO. It was a pleasure for me to work you so easy .I was working only in the first part beacuse in the second leg, for an hour, I was not able to hear other stations.
In the first leg,the wind was very strong and in other part of Romania big damages were done.
Coming out to see the antenna behavior during the strong wind , I have seen four "bananas"due the high winds , which needs corrections fo AZ. The "pendulum" from EL was balancing all the time making hard to found the real glide value of elevation.
Except SV1BTR,OZ1HNE "beacons" , it was very easy to make QSO to the other stations!
For example DK3NG (529),I3EVK (529),F1FLA (up to 539), also LZ1DP , strong on the Moon and weak tropo.

Hi Peter and all other fellow 2M EME enthusiasts!
When I attempted to be QRV, for the ATP, I discovered that my elevation indicating device (old synchro motors) had failed. A troubleshooting effort revealed that a proper repair effort would cause me to miss the remainder of the ATP.
Fortunately, the sky was clear, allowing me to improvise by aiming the array visually. Thus I proceeded to "guesstimate" the required elevation motor run time, then run through my house, and across my back yard, to view the results, by sighting along one of the antenna booms. This procedure was repeated every 15 minutes or so, allowing me to keep the array pointed within ~ 4 or 5 degrees of the moon, most of the time.
Conditions were fair. One way propagation was very evident, during the earlier portion, of the ATP, but this situation improved after ~ 2130Z.

I found condition fair,good WX quite all the time except second leg when starts to drizzle. Despite of some minor problems with the switcing the EME line in TX mode ,all was OK.
Nice to see that the number of the participants are higher showing that the target of this monthly contest ,CW activity increase, is real. For me is a real pleasure to participate
in a such a contest.Waiting in the spring,to the REF - DUBUS where ,I hope, to see many stations which during ATP, are "dormant".

I regret that you were not able to be QRV, Peter. I certainly hope that you will be able to be QRV in February.
Unfortunately, a non radio issue plus power supply problems caused me to most of the first hour, of the ATP. When I was able to be QRV, at 2155Z, I found conditions to initially be rather good. However, conditions soon began a steady decline, during the two remaining hours, of the ATP. I suspect that I may have missed the very best conditions, prior to 2200Z.

Sometimes it was hard to find out in which period a station was.. A little
bit procedure wouldn't be wrong... To stick to odd or even minutes or at
least END at a full minute isn't too hard is it ??
It was big fun digging signals out of the noise, Had good own echo's nearly
all the time so very low faraday it seems. Calling CQ did NOT pay off I
called CQ for a while but NO takers. I prefer full random operation so did
not make any announcement before the contest, not even that I would be QRV..

conditions in the first part very much up and down with deep QSP. In most
of the second part I had heavy rain with a lot of static noise, so from time to
time not possible to hear even strong signals and many QRZ from me.
Very good activity and looks very very good for the coming CW EME Events.

Hello Peter and All,
Again i very much enjoyed my participation in this fine January 2011 ATP on 2m CW EME.
I was QRV during both legs of the ATP. During the first leg, i found conditions here to be better than usual. I could hear several stations calling CQ but due the usual high QRM and QRN I could not get all their callsigns. At the end of the first leg and after 4 QSOs I was very optimistic. But during the second leg i found conditions to be quite poor here with especially high QRN up to S9 sometimes, so no further QSOs were established unfortunately.

Hello Peter,
this time i was active on both legs of this january ATP. During 1st i found

Excellent 2m cw fun & activity from EU and also great to see JA presence on
the first 3 hours pass of ATP (activity time period) of January.
Conditions were mixed, but first 2 hours all EU stations were coming in V
pol. Quite deep qsb throughout.
Worked on random 17 stations including new initials, namely the following
fine operators:
YO2AMU DK3NG DL5MAE F9HS DK3EE LZ1DP IK2DDR I3EVK YO3DDZ YO5AVN
JE1TNL PA5MS OZ1HNE OZ4MM DF1CF SV1OAA SV3AAF. I missed at least 2-3

Thank you very much for the last QSO's of 2010. Really fun! Conditions excellent but very low activity from EU and other continents. Maybe for the Northern Hemisphere , the winter is hard and some antennas are frozen.Heard quite all the time my own echoes. The new HM PA was working without problems in his parameters after some improvements to stop the power drift.

eason’s Greetings Mooners Happy to be qrv in 2m December activity time period (ATP) sponsored by DUBUS. I managed to be on for only half the time of the two 3 hour passes. 2 hours in first one as I had another commitment, and just 1 hour in second pass due to S-7 QRN from 22KV lines, even at 35 degrees elevation...
Propagation conditions were not good at all in first 90 minutes of moonrise pass, with very deep, slow QSB in both polarities. Echoes at qsb minimums were down up to 12db from their usual strength. As time passed by, things became suddenly better, and next day on Sunday conditions were average and certainly more stable. As previously reported, had the big pleasure to work qrp station VK5APN on sked on Sunday for his 1st 2m cw eme qso. I am sure Wayne will become a regular fine cw eme operator in the future.
During the 2m ATP lot’s of fun for the limited time i was on. Logged the following 13 QSOs in cw random:

I was qrv both legs..but in the first very hight noise due power line...so i
heard only the strongest stations.
In second half looking for US canada stations but no luck...but happy to receive
again the big signal from Gary KB8RQ after long time in CW segment.

me..but cannot pull out his call...who was??..i am curious !!!

I heard and called VE1KG, but I received only QRZ? in response. The only Europeon stations heard or worked, during the first 2.5 hours, of the ATP, were known to have switchable polarization.
Polarization alignment, with the fixed horizontally polarized Europeon stations, did not occur until the arrival of the very last minutes, of the ATP. OK1MS was the only such station heard or contacted. Thanks for staying around, Stan!
To all others (DL2HWA, IK1FJI, YO2AMU, IK2DDR), for the umpteenth time, I had yet another opportunity to deeply regret that I did not erect my array, with the antennas vertically polarized! I hope to "CU" in January!

EME in the middle of winter is always a gamble for me. This time I was able to be on,
the snow and ice was not so bad as in November. Interesting conditions, Europe cross polarized
for me most all the time. Very strong signals from NA in the second pass, a big change in
conditions compared to the first pass.

Hello dear Peter and all,
I am very glad I participated in the ATP of November on 2m cw eme. I worked on random Jorgen OZ1HNE and Jimmy SV1BTR. Both had booming singals here in SV land. Towards the end of the ATP I heard YO2AMU but by the time i managed to understand his callsign, the ATP time ended and he stopped.

Next day, I completed a cw qso with Peter OZ1LPR on sked outside ATP times.
Despite the bad conditions i really enjoyed it and i am looking forward to the next ATP. I will be moving my EME QTH to a QRM-free location outside Athens since i am having big RX problems here in city.
I hope i can manage to be ready for December ATP.

After a long silence I am active again in our EME community contests! In January 2010 I lost my old 2xGU74 PA becaus of PS and now I tested my new
GU78b with good results except the power drift which I must fix.
I was very glad to work again my old EME friends despite of extremly bad condition on my side!A lot of QRM and QRM made by allarm systems
working in the radioamateur band of 144 MHz against the communications laws.

Was going QRT after 1,5 hours as gas finished (heating my shack with gas) and was getting very cold in my shack (0 degrees and frozen toes...)
Thats the reason why not beeing QRV in the 2nd leg.
Will buy a new bottle of gas next week...

Unfortunately, I missed the first 30 minutes of the ATP, due to a mental failure! Conditions seemed to be very poor, but did seem to improve slightly, during the latter portion of the ATP
QSOs were logged with SV1BTR, OZ1HNE, K9DX, SM2CEW and IK1FJI.

K5QE, YO2AMU, and DL2HWA were heard and called, without success.

I heard 2 stations & worked 2 stations. It took me 20 minutes to work SV1BTR Jimmy which did not augur well for the rest of the nite. Worked Jorgen OZ1HNE. Now Jorgen was very consistant for a long time. Heard John K9DX but did not work him. I was locked out from Europe because i heard Jimmy working stations consistently & i could not hear those stations.

Also i could not hear my echos which is VERY unusual for me running 1600 watts CW to 4x5WL.I called CQ`until i was blue in the face, went out to see if the array was still up saw a bright moon & was right on it. My camera indicated that in the shack.
Anyway quit at 01:45z poured myself a scotch & then went to bed. Was not in the first leg no moon available during the time slot. You know what!!! i still had fun!!!!!

Well guys I tried - I really did. I copied OZ1HNE, SV1BTR, and IK2FJI all
quite well but could not get a response from any. I tried the longest and
hardest with you, Jimmy, but the best I could get was a few QRZ's. I had
the amp turned all the way up and your signal was very Q5 most of the time.
Running more power than me Jimmy?
I have rotatable polarization by turning the Yagis, and I tried TX at all
polarizations - 90, 45, 0, -30 degrees and nothing gave me any better
results, except that I did not get any QRZ from you when TX'ing at 90 deg
pol. All stations were received at 90 deg (vertical pol). At times I could
copy Jimmy at all polarization from zero to 90 degrees, without much signal
change, so I guess signals were somewhat depolarized.
Anyway after a couple hours I gave up and went back to the JT portion of the
band where I can make contacts much easier and faster.

Hi EME CW folks,
after several months of station upgrading, mainly 4 Yagis into 9 elem. YU7EF, I was hardly encouraged to start within the CW ATP this weekend.
But, as others already reported, the moon conditions where really bad.
High DEG., long-term QSB, mis-polarisation, etc.
I heard in both legs totally 4 stns and could reach only Jimmy SV1BTR.

The others heard are: OZ1HNE, OK1MS (may be tropo?),IK1FJI, but could not reach them.
Due to the fact, that most others had also severe difficulties for QSO's, I still hope that my stn-improvement efforts will show the expected, better results in future. HI

Very poor results this time, my antennas were iced up and showing a very high SWR.
I could only transmit on my vertical elements. I think conditions were not good either
so my degraded antenna was not the only reason for the low turnout on this side.

Thank you very much for the fb ATP EME QSOs!
I was able to increase my transmitter power, a bit, prior to the 28 August ATP.
I did observe and enjoy an improvement, in my success rate, compared to that achieved
during recent activity periods. However, I have no way of knowing whether the power
increase was responsible, for the improved results, or if, perhaps, I experienced
better luck with polarity alignment!

I was QRV for ~2 hours, and found conditions to be similar to those that I observed in July. Once again, I could hear my echoes well enough, but they apparently weren't being heard well, in the horizontal plane, in Europe. I am becoming thoroughly convinced that I should have erected my antennas, vertically polarized! If I decide to make a polarity change, I will definetely await the arrival of much cooler wx!

I was QRV for ~2 hours, during the July activity period. Signals were weak, much of the time, but occasionally of respectable strength. The considerable QSB, noted on the few signals heard, was apparently not entirely the result of the transmitt polarity being switched (by stations equipped to do that), as I noted this phenomena on my own echoes, and also on the signal from OK1MS.
Both SM2CEW and OZ1HNE (many thanks to both for their comments!) reported that my signals were being heard at a vertical polarization, which probably explains my lack of success, with the several fixed horizontal polarity Europeon stations, that were heard.

Hello Peter and all cw emer's I was qrv during the may dubus activity....
I n the first slot and part of the second i found very weak signals and weak echo time to time, so i put an eye to the antennas and found something wrong in my elevation readout.With the help of my son i found that the array was abt 14 degrees out.
I recalibrate the sistem and the signals went out very well.....unfortunatly too late !!! HI.

Hi all!
I was not expecting good conditions, during the May ATP, considering the 500+ degrees sky temperature, plus the fact that a new moon had occurred, during the previous day. Therefore, I wasn't totally surprised when I heard no signals, could not hear my own echoes, and heard no replies to my CQs.
However, when I did a quick aural check, for sun noise, and heard nil, I finially realized that Murphy had visited my QTH, once again, and that I had a receive problem! I had previously experienced this problem, at least once before, but my receiver returned to "life", before I could locate the cause, of the problem.
This time, however, I was able to determine that my isolation relay was defective. By the time that I found a replacement relay, and exchanged it for the defective one, only ~1 hour of the ATP remained.
Conditions now sounded quite good! I apologize profusely to those that may have attempted to reply to my CQs, while my receive system was defunct! Please try again, in July!

I was QRV during the entire 3 hour ATP, but was apparently "locked out" polarity wise. I heard OK1MS very weakly, until approximately 1900Z, when his signal became progressively stronger, as the polarity alignment apparently improved.
My calls, to him, were unsuccessful, however, so the polarity situation seemed to also be non-reciprocal. I called CQ, for a while, on ~144.049 Mhz. and heard 2 weak stations, at 1704Z, that were transmitting simultaneously, possibly in response to my CQ. They were zero beat with one another, however, and I couldn't copy either station! My own echoes were very weak, at the beginning of the ATP, but came up quite fb, during the mid portion of the event, so I don't believe that my system is totally kaput.
I hope for much better results, in May!

Ciao Peter i send you my report for the last activity, i dont know why, but in the event i found always bad conditions,,,,i dont thing have a problem in my rig !!! So i made only two qso's and heard some others in the band.
WAS QRV ONLY ONE HOUR IN THE FIRST SLOT BUT i enjoy Sunday evening listening on 432 eme for KP4AO...i can copy them in SSB CW and try also JT....!!!! All this with home made 12 elemet 3 meters long abt 14.4 6 meters of low loss cable a ssb preamp to a ts 2000......what a trill my first EME 432 signal... Anywhere hope better next activity CW dubus....

Again rather poor conditions during the two periods. I was completing most QSO's cross polarized, receiving horizontal and transmitting vertica. Still, signals peaking really well. I think that the evening pass was seeing a lot of competition from the very interesting KP4AO 432 MHz operation from the 1000' Arecibo radio telescope.

I do not hesitate to say that conditions were probably the worst we have seen
in a long time. By the end of the 2nd pass I could hear decent echoes, but by then
most stations had gone QRT due to the poor conditions.

I was QRV in both parts of the first DUBUS CW EME Event 2010
and found some of the worst EME conditions I ever seen. All signals
sounded like a 6dB attenuator was mounted in my RX line.
I look very much forward to our next Event in Februar.

A fair bit of rime frost on the yagis shot the SWR into the red zone but I operated anyhow. Was actually quite pleased with performance despite this detuning of my array. Conditions were strange (Aurora here), cross polarization even within Europe, at least on the first pass. Heard a few more stations, managed to work these:

Very low activity. The same stations.Conditions poor and a lot of noise came from east.Echoes very weak and rare in the first leg. I did not hear other station except the qso's from my log.The elevation system refused to do sometimes the job.I forgot to grease the actuator for the winter and it was moving only with the hep of God. It was cold , abt -6 C and cloudy in east direction.
But , I enjoyed this contest working my old friends with pleasure as always!

Thanks for FB CW EME QSO. Here is my log for January 23 2010 event. Strange conditions indeed, very strong signals from Italy but faint from anywhere else.YO2AMU, normally very strong, was barely audible. Very few stations on the air, not heard any JA in the morning. Called by DK3NG, but i was not able to get his call, only a faint trace. Called F1FLA, 549, many times but no reply, One way conditions most of the time. Missing many EME friends usually active in the event,
Poor EU-EU in the evening, average EU-NA but no stations QRV, only Joe popped up for just a few minutes.
Let us hope for wider participation in next event. Let us keep CW EME alive !

Just some comments about conditions for november 2m Event.
Conditions fair to good - echoes all the time. A number of ten QSO's in the first Moon-pass and only one in the second(LA8YB). The interferrence with a terrestrial
CW contest make me to give-up after 1 hour of the second Moon-pass. Strong stations from HA , YU , 9A ,S5 make the EME band useless! We had also heavy rain
with all the noises derived frim a wet electrical network environement. Low activity and also some operators without patience. If they did not have a QSO after first call, they give - up! I remember that sometimes I stayed over an hour for a QSO! I finished the November Event with a number of 11 QSO x 11 Mult for 4 hours of work.
The presence of stations from USA was just symbolyc and for a very short time.No time for a QSO.
Worked a new one as RZ4HF - hope it was not a mistake - with very nice signals.

thank you one more time for so nice job, proposing us the DUBUS 2m CW eme
activity event.
The last activity event of 2009 is gone and we are preparing for your new
proposals.
Yesterday i found an extremely good activity, calculating all the pro and
contra (SHF ARRL EME CONTEST and MMC terrestrial contest), on 1st window,
when i was active for full time without problems. On 2nd window, i was
active for about 1 and 1 half an hour, due too tired to stay on and lot of
difficulties due the local terrestrial MMC contest. There i worked the only
station heard, over someone of those worked in the morning.
Anyway is really a pleasure and pure fun. Many thanks to Joe K9MRI, always
present from USA and active by many years, with the same spirit.
He is one of my 1st contacts on 1991. I heard for a short period also K9DX.
Looking the activity on the others CW contests, like the Marconi Memorial
for 2 m or the others on HF, i can't really understand a so large absence of
USA stations, when i know that there is a big number of capable stations and
operators.
I wish to hear some good news from someone from there that will try the
maximum of the satisfaction using the way that permits us to maintain the
operator, as the 1st important part in one station.

The evening pass was very problematic, conditions had changed dramatically for me and my antennas had ice on them that degraded performance.

From email reports I hear that many operators were tied up with other
activities this weekend, some even involving annual antenna maintenance
before the fall/winter season. Still, glad to see such good activity.
Conditions were not good at my QTH. Deep QSB, rapid Faraday shifts and
times when echoes were almost non existent. As far as I see it, these type
of conditions often show up in the summer months when we have daytime moon.
Next scheduled event is in December as we are now heading into the contest season ARI/ARRL).

Hi,
I planned to be qrv this weekend on 2m cw eme in Dubus Event and for
some skeds.
Unfortunatelly yesterday after cw sked with NT0V (#323, Dennis had FB
signal) I discovered serious problem with my horizontal rotor.
Pointing is almost impossible and further work would couse risk for
array to fall down. So I needed to lower the antenna safely to the
ground as fast as possible and have to cancel all activities.
I hope to replace rotor before contest season and get fully operational
again.

D uring this event,i found good activity on 1st window, where i worked 9
stations. Nice to work Petros, SV3AAF, after so long time. Conditions were
very good at the beginning of 2nd window.
At least i worked 12 stations, with 2 US friends (KB8RQ and K9DX).

Despite my station is much better on receive than 10 years ago, it s seems to me that it s harder to copy signal out of noise now. Noisefloor is dramatically gained. Some directions will give 10db noise above my 50 ohm load ( not even can find cold sky anymore)

Good Day to you all.
I was active for the first leg on the CW activity day.
Heard quite a few signals around LA8,YO2.
What an adrenalin rush to try and pick out the CW call signs from the noise.
Worked Jimmy SV1BTR just after the cut off time. Big signal Jimmy.
I was not active during the second leg as my Moon elevation was very low and
I have a hill in that direction.
I only have QRP at this stage but working on changing that situation at the
moment.
After many emails and SMS contacts I would like to thank Jimmy SV1BTR for
all his advice and guidance to get up and running on CW EME this weekend.
He is truly inspirational and his dedication to CW EME can only be admired.
I will definitely be there for the next CW EME weekend hopefully with a
little more power.

Hi Peter and the CW community.
Compared to my last time (May 09) result I improved my score by 300%, that means from 0 QSO's to 3 QSO's this time -HI-
Conditions in the first slot where average, in the first hour of the 2.nd slot really good and in the remaining 2 hrs. absolutely NIL!
Small antenna gain and only H Pol made it difficult for me. I noticed from other stns, that they are mostly using V Pol during the contest.
But it was a big fun to really feel and hear morse signs reflected on the moon rocks and sand (and unfortunately no water!) under contest conditions.
In the meantime, I have also improved my PTT-control to "manually actuated minutes" for easier adaption to the partners "one minute time feelings". -HI-

I was aiming moon to check for Onsala SK6OSO activity on 1296.050 and just
by chance during their thunderstorm heard LA8YB calling on 144.055 MHz. A
few calls was followed by QRZ from him, maybe because we haven't been active
on the moon for some time. We use Linrad at LF output of FT-736R and the
coherent detector made armchair copy in loudspeaker, litterally! The single
yagi on 1296 didn't make any detectable signal from SK6OSO though.
Rig is same as SK4AO, we share location also with SL4ZYX.

Contest Log for July 18 2009.
Found conditions mixed with strong signals from all the stations and some very hard to copy or just chopped calls but
all the time I copied my call and not the call of the station calling me.A lot of regular stations were missing! Maybe there is holiday time and a lot of HAM's are away from the RIG.
Static electricity was present quite all the time , echoes weak or not, or strong sometimes. A lot of time the polarity was reversed. Not much to say about my new antenna!? I'm afraid to think that the old was better(15 el-BVO)! Let's time to decide and contest activity!

Very good conditions in the morning leg, strong signals with little QSB, much harder after 15Z in the afternoon, the band became a noise desert for us.
Thanks for nice QSO's and see you all in next event ! Thanks to Vince IT9CHU that joined me during the CW event. IC706MKIIG 8877 4 X 10 DK7ZB LNA MGF4919G, RX FT1000MP + Transverter + PERSEUS SDR tested for the first time in CW EME.
Despite the FT1000MP beated the SDR in quality, and Spectran BF filter was smoother and more confortable for reception for me, it was nice to see the band full of CW traces in the waterfall and check with the tunable filter of PERSEUS all the signals with a simple mouse "click".

Hello Peter and all,
thank you very much for nice eme activity, during last
Dubus eme event. After april where i was not active due
the annual Italian eme meeting and may when due some football
commitment i was active just in one leg, at least on june i was on
about full time.I have stopped around 1605 U.T.C., due no takers. I found
really good activity if compared with some other month. In the morning i
worked most of my score, with 11 stations in the 1st leg. About all signals
were heard at good/strong level. Unfortunately no Asian or African stations
in my log and only one US (K9DX) was heard and worked.

Hi EME'ers,
... unfortunately I cannot report any completed contact, therefore I'm surely the 'top looser`' with 0 points, of this - my first participation in a EME-CW - contest. Every begin is rocky, HI.
During the first (early morning) part I heard quite well YO2AMU, SV1BTR, F1FLA, OZ1HNE and others. I tried some QSO's, but with no success. I think, my antenna gain is still too small (HI, a small pistol station 4 x 7 el. H, 750 W). But with 2 of the a.m. stations I had problems with their time disciplines.
One (strong) station didnot take any care of beginning (at .00 at even / odd) and also not of lenght of intervalls (30, 60, 120 sec.), another one had a time delay of 14 sec. So no chance to call/work these in due (agreed/standardized) times.
At the second part of contest sun-noise made any try worthless.
But I hope, next time the things will running better for me.
I'm interested, if other stations did hear me?

i'm sorry, but after the april event, where i wasn't active due the Italian
eme Meeting, on may i was active only on 1st window, due my football
commitments. Anyway, i found average conditions with some good signal and
some other that has suffered, i imagine, the local summer noise. I worked
four stations and called without results IT9CJC and RX1AS. I hope to do

Hello Peter Nice activity, but hope better in the future !! I was qrv in the last event for some
time in first and second leg Found average coditions with some qsb, but i had really fun
for the first time try to receive with my new ts 2000, with 5khz bw
(i need to modified it for 12khz when find the time)

Nice signals, but plenty of cross polarization for me this time.
My moonrise window will now be somewhat limited due to the heavy foilage on the trees.
But this weekend the effect was limited and I had good results on moonrise.
I thinks this was my top scrore so far in the CW events. :-))

Hi All,
I found condx in 2m-DUBUS ACTIVITY rather good. Well, sun was a bit close and noisy but
signals were loud enough to copy easy. Lost a lot of time calling stations without
reply or QRZ? Spent alot of time calling IT9CJC who had very loud sigs but no reaction
from him.
Others called but not copy my sigs were DK3EE, F0CXO and OK1MS. Many
more stations heard.
Unfortunately I could only make it for the 2nd window of the DUBUS ACTIVITY
and then activity was low for the first 2 hours. After 2 hours the band began to fill
slowly.

Thanks for the nice CW EME contact, really good signal from you. Better conditions in the morning leg, but with fast and deep fading affecting all EME signals, few stations.
A worse conditions for me in the afternoon, strong Faraday rotation, a problem for me working only Hpol, but more stations active. Heard, called but not worked, YO2AMU, G4ZFJ.
LNA died suddenly at 7:00 Z, then some hours of QRT to get it fixed.

Only a short window in eastern VK this time:
0530 - 0730 UTC in the first time slot.
Conditions difficult with gale force winds and occasional
horizontal showers.
Worked: OZ1HNE and SM2CEW.
Called LA8YB many times without any reply.
Also heard good signals from DK3EE.
2 QSO x 10 x 2 mult = 40p
The next DUBUS event on 23 May has an even shorter VK window,
0400 - 0510 UTC, so hardly worth switching on the equipment!
I guess I can understand many EU stations not wanting to be QRV
from, say, 0300, which would obviously suit VK better.

Sorry for missing the first time slot.I was at job until 19.30 LT(16.30 UTC).I found condition fair
and all came with nice signals. A very unplesant noise was wobblering from 144.048 to 144.056 "walking" slowly
up and down without any time rule. I was "forced" to jump between free frequency slots , walking with my signals
where I found free of QRM,place!

I am sorry I missed so many stations due to rain static. Missed the first 1 1/2 hours and then the static would be quiet for a time, build to s9 ... and snap back down. So if you were there during the quiet times we probably worked. Anyway I was pleased with the results in such a short time and with some stations I worked for the first time.

Hi ALL,
Very poor performance of my station (unexpected high SWR: 1,6) and poor
activity (or lets better say low number of CQ-CALLING stations; I think activity was OK) kept my score low.
I heard many stations calling others but never heard them calling CQ themselves.
Others I called but not even got a QRZ (F1FLA, F0CXO, IK1FJI, DK3EE).
The problem of the relativly high SWR might be bad connector or water (?) ?
In the Feb acitvity test everything was OK but since that time we had
plenty of snow and winds...
Heard were IT9CJC, LZ1DP, F0CXO, F1FLA, JH0WJF, DK3EE, SM7GVF,
VK2KU, IK2DDR, IK1FJI.
Only 3 contacts completed:

Hello Peter and all. I have been active full time on 1st window and a couple
of hours on 2nd.
Worked 9 of the 14 stations that i heard.Usually the number of not worked
stations is not so high, but i think that
someone has suffer some noise due bad weather.
Conditions were not so good as on february and the activity was also a bit
less, respect the
same event.I found good conditions in some moment, during 2nd window.
Unfortunately of 2 US friends,

Comparative with the last time event , conditions were worst! Looking to my log all the activity was little more than an hour.Welcome Guy, VK2KU, in our Event ! I hope to work you in the near future!A surprise was to hear K5QE with very good signals ! Heard /Called IT9CJC and K6PF after finishing they QSO but no reply! I didn't knew that my qso with IK1FJI (539/539)will be the last in the second slot. I continued to try a qso with K5QE (sometimes peacking up to S-3) and I lost more than an hour calling him without any result. Maybe polarity was changed to vertical because I heard permanently OZ1HNE, F1FLA and...K5QE. All the time in the second time slot I did not hear my echoes. An hour before finish I gave -up and I went to see my favourite TV show. What a big event was in february 7 !!!

Hello Eme friends
i was qrv on the event, but in the morning slot be able to heard someone only at 11:00 gmt, before at my "moonrise abt 20 degrees, heavy rain and statics noise up to S 9+. I have bad idea to call cq anywhere, most of you can think that Valter missed his heard or receive without antennas !!!
I see anymore some traces but no possible heard nothing, so first slot was be able to work only F1FLA when noise go out.....
Second slot much much better, but again shut down before the end due my qrl...:-(((....

Hello 2m EME Friends
I was active for 1.5 hrs today (3/1/09) on 2m cw, random, unassisted &
completed 6 QSOs. Condx were mixed with some stations strong & some vy weak
with lots of deep QSB. So, sri for sending a lot or QRZs at times. All
were horiz polarity on Tx & Rx. Vertical polarity was too noisy for rcv.

This was fun! Good activity, and fair conditions. I had some rime frost on my
antennas for the 1st leg, and could really sense that the array was not performing
as it should. Better the 2nd leg, most of the rime had gone, and the SWR was again
reasonable. Special thanks to K5QE and K9DX for coming on during the 2nd leg, together
with K6PF giving us super signals from NA.

After almost 1 year of absence of EME I made a few contacts in the
DUBUS activity weekend. Only Europeans worked, where was JAPAN and
Oceania?
Found condx good. Wkd 10 stations (others heard, i.e. I3EVK, F0CXO, PA0JMV and more).
Got the feeling some contacts were arranged via CHATROOM during the event.
Maybe I am wrong, I just made some "strange observations" when turning my
VFO over the band. I hope DUBUS TESTs will remain pure random in the future.

Just back on EME after 2.5 months stop for antennas mantainance.
Nice the whole weekend, signals not particularly strong but stable and good activity: despite many EME friends often active during the Events are missing in the log, best score ever for us in a Dubus EME event.
13 CW QSO's within the two legs plus others with strong signals during the weekend. Nice to hear CW EME window so crowd !
Missing QSO's with US stations, we had to stop earlier due to an heavvy rain thunderstorm.
Thanks to all for the nice contacts and in particular to PA0JMV Joop, YO2AMU Doru, I3EVK Bruno, and PI9CAM team operated by PE1L Rene, for the nice new inits on CW EME. See you all in the next events.

Very nice activity,good conditions having own echoes all the time. Heard and called OH6CH with excellent signals. Low activity from JA. To have better performance i did some changements regarding the connexion between my TR144 transverter and the IF part as FT920 + switch board filters 400/250 Hz BW.The DSP from my FT920 was very usefull.Finising an EME qso ,a lot of operators does not listen the own frequency and call CQ. Except SM2CEW who pay attention if anybody is calling him!Try to watch up on your frequency! Always somebody is there!!!Nice to have qso with Mario,I1ANP and IT9CJC! Both with very nice signals!

Hello all&.
I haven t been able to join the DUBUS events for almost a year now. QRL during weekends is not so good and missing a lot but I m working on time management to balance the time spent on QRL, family and radio. So I spent the Saturday evening in my shack working on some projects and the solder iron was smoking. I also made one digital QSO as I wanted to QSO the Dwingeloo dish activated by PE1L. He was also on in CW but was too late for that so that s for a next time. Oeps&.DUBUS event&.second slot&almost forgot.
But turned over the band and heard amazing echo s from Tom, DK3EE, and could not resist to call him, in spite of the also loud tropo. So I worked one QSO:

Hello Moonbouncers,
Was on last one and a half hour for SWL. (single yagi )
Looked like it was very good activity. it was many traces on the screen i
could not dig out of the noise but still very fun to hunt in real random
style with small antenna.

Hello 2m EME Friends:
I was QRV for 2 hours on 8 Feb & had VY poor condx. Although the event
started at 2300z on 7 Feb, I didn't hv moonrise until abt 2345z. Had vy
noisy condx, even up to 20 deg EL. Horiz polarity was noisy & vertical pol
was extremely bad & not usuable. Usually, EU comes in vertical fm moonrise
until 15-20 deg EL. On top of noise, had lots of deep QSB. I apologize for
sending so many QRZs. All QSOs were horiz pol on tx & rx. 5 out of 6 QSOs
were on my CQ.
During these 2 hrs, worked 6 stations for 6 multipliers. Here's the
results:

Hello Peter and all,
here my Dubus 2m eme activity event report.
Unfortunately i was active only on second window, due football commitments.
I found an extremely high activity and very good conditions, with lot of
strong signals.
My qso/rate was really extremely good on 1st hour (23:00-24:00), where i
worked 8 stations.
I'm really sorry to have lost some other good station, maybe active only on
1st window, but at
least i'm really satysfied about my score. Each qso was really pure fun.
I heard for the second month WB2RVX that i wish to work soon, maybe untill
next event.
As told by Wolfgang,DL5MAE, i wish that the event could maintain the "Only
Random status", maybe someone
of us as forgot it.

Hello 2m EME Friends:
After not being QRV for quite awhile due to QRL demands, I was glad to be
QRV for about 2.5 hrs tonite (1/11/09 fm 0330-0600z) during the DUBUS
activity period. Worked 7 stations on random. Had vy hi noise level due to
warm dry winds & lots of QSB on most signals so vy pleased to work the
stations that I did. Fortunately, by 0330z, my EL was >20 deg so that
helped lower the terrestrial noise. A couple of times I called CQ & seemed
like a pile-up of stations calling me. Sri I had so much trouble copying
many of them.
Here's list of stations worked. All were horizontal polarity on TX & RX.
