Hello!

I had the pleasure to be QRV again but with small antennasystem. I could

only be active during second timeslot.

I heard OK1MS with big signal and partial from DK3NG. I also heard SM7GVF

with both local signal and echo.

I worked OZ1HNE who had from time to time very big echo. I also managed to

Work SM2CEW during my CQ .

Hello Peter,

Anyway it was just fun, as usual, on working you and the other friends.

Hi EME ers

I was QRV in both parts of the first DUBUS CW EME Event 2010

and found some of the worst EME conditions I ever seen. All signals

sounded like a 6dB attenuator was mounted in my RX line.

I look very much forward to our next Event in Februar.

I worked the following 12 QSO s on random and heard K9MRI,

VE1KG and ES5PC but QSO not possible.

A fair bit of rime frost on the yagis shot the SWR into the red zone but I operated anyhow. Was actually quite pleased with performance despite this detuning of my array. Conditions were strange (Aurora here), cross polarization even within Europe, at least on the first pass. Heard a few more stations, managed to work these:

I did not hear other station except the qso's from my log.The elevation system refused to do sometimes the job.I forgot to grease the actuator for the winter and it was moving only with the hep of God. It was cold , abt -6 C and cloudy in east direction.

Thanks for FB CW EME QSO. Here is my log for January 23 2010 event. Strange conditions indeed, very strong signals from Italy but faint from anywhere else.YO2AMU, normally very strong, was barely audible. Very few stations on the air, not heard any JA in the morning. Called by DK3NG, but i was not able to get his call, only a faint trace. Called F1FLA, 549, many times but no reply, One way conditions most of the time. Missing many EME friends usually active in the event,

Poor EU-EU in the evening, average EU-NA but no stations QRV, only Joe popped up for just a few minutes.

Let us hope for wider participation in next event. Let us keep CW EME alive !

The Japanese calendar is "Dai-kan" now.

It says the coldest time in one year.

However, it rains not snow, and it is a state of the warming.

The condition was good first, but helped with the profit of the

Outside the aw worked UA3PTW with FB signals! - no faraday then.

Just some comments about conditions for november 2m Event.

Conditions fair to good - echoes all the time. A number of ten QSO's in the first Moon-pass and only one in the second(LA8YB). The interferrence with a terrestrial

CW contest make me to give-up after 1 hour of the second Moon-pass. Strong stations from HA , YU , 9A ,S5 make the EME band useless! We had also heavy rain

with all the noises derived frim a wet electrical network environement. Low activity and also some operators without patience. If they did not have a QSO after first call, they give - up! I remember that sometimes I stayed over an hour for a QSO! I finished the November Event with a number of 11 QSO x 11 Mult for 4 hours of work.

The presence of stations from USA was just symbolyc and for a very short time.No time for a QSO.

Worked a new one as RZ4HF - hope it was not a mistake - with very nice signals.

IK2DDR

Ciao Peter (SM2CEW) and all,

thank you one more time for so nice job, proposing us the DUBUS 2m CW eme

activity event.

The last activity event of 2009 is gone and we are preparing for your new

proposals.

Yesterday i found an extremely good activity, calculating all the pro and

contra (SHF ARRL EME CONTEST and MMC terrestrial contest), on 1st window,

when i was active for full time without problems. On 2nd window, i was

active for about 1 and 1 half an hour, due too tired to stay on and lot of

difficulties due the local terrestrial MMC contest. There i worked the only

station heard, over someone of those worked in the morning.

Anyway is really a pleasure and pure fun. Many thanks to Joe K9MRI, always

present from USA and active by many years, with the same spirit.

He is one of my 1st contacts on 1991. I heard for a short period also K9DX.

Looking the activity on the others CW contests, like the Marconi Memorial

for 2 m or the others on HF, i can't really understand a so large absence of

USA stations, when i know that there is a big number of capable stations and

operators.

I wish to hear some good news from someone from there that will try the

maximum of the satisfaction using the way that permits us to maintain the

operator, as the 1st important part in one station.

Good conditions in the morning, nice to see good activity also.

The evening pass was very problematic, conditions had changed dramatically for me and my antennas had ice on them that degraded performance.

All in all, a very good year 2009 for CW EME! Hope to see you all in 2010!

SM2CEW

From email reports I hear that many operators were tied up with other

activities this weekend, some even involving annual antenna maintenance

before the fall/winter season. Still, glad to see such good activity.

Conditions were not good at my QTH. Deep QSB, rapid Faraday shifts and

times when echoes were almost non existent. As far as I see it, these type

of conditions often show up in the summer months when we have daytime moon.

Next scheduled event is in December as we are now heading into the contest season ARI/ARRL).

with no reply at all.

Looking like 4*9 ( old Tonna design) and 700w is not enougth as I get the same result every Dubus activity. I have plans for 4*3wl Xpol next winter , let's hope it will be better ( but I get my echoes with the 4*9). Maybe I should also add +3db on pwr , I still have my old QBL but is needs some tidying

Hi,

I planned to be qrv this weekend on 2m cw eme in Dubus Event and for

some skeds.

Unfortunatelly yesterday after cw sked with NT0V (#323, Dennis had FB

signal) I discovered serious problem with my horizontal rotor.

Pointing is almost impossible and further work would couse risk for

array to fall down. So I needed to lower the antenna safely to the

ground as fast as possible and have to cancel all activities.

I hope to replace rotor before contest season and get fully operational

again.

Good luck to everyone.

Despite my station is much better on receive than 10 years ago, it s seems to me that it s harder to copy signal out of noise now. Noisefloor is dramatically gained. Some directions will give 10db noise above my 50 ohm load ( not even can find cold sky anymore)

Anyway I had a lot of fun and will be on when possible.

Good Day to you all.

I was active for the first leg on the CW activity day.

Heard quite a few signals around LA8,YO2.

What an adrenalin rush to try and pick out the CW call signs from the noise.

Worked Jimmy SV1BTR just after the cut off time. Big signal Jimmy.

I was not active during the second leg as my Moon elevation was very low and

I have a hill in that direction.

I only have QRP at this stage but working on changing that situation at the

moment.

After many emails and SMS contacts I would like to thank Jimmy SV1BTR for

all his advice and guidance to get up and running on CW EME this weekend.

He is truly inspirational and his dedication to CW EME can only be admired.

I will definitely be there for the next CW EME weekend hopefully with a

little more power.

Thank you to all those who organized this event.

Hi Peter and the CW community.

Compared to my last time (May 09) result I improved my score by 300%, that means from 0 QSO's to 3 QSO's this time -HI-

Conditions in the first slot where average, in the first hour of the 2.nd slot really good and in the remaining 2 hrs. absolutely NIL!

Small antenna gain and only H Pol made it difficult for me. I noticed from other stns, that they are mostly using V Pol during the contest.

But it was a big fun to really feel and hear morse signs reflected on the moon rocks and sand (and unfortunately no water!) under contest conditions.

In the meantime, I have also improved my PTT-control to "manually actuated minutes" for easier adaption to the partners "one minute time feelings". -HI-

Wow! It helped!!

Contest Log for July 18 2009.

Found conditions mixed with strong signals from all the stations and some very hard to copy or just chopped calls but

all the time I copied my call and not the call of the station calling me.A lot of regular stations were missing! Maybe there is holiday time and a lot of HAM's are away from the RIG.

Static electricity was present quite all the time , echoes weak or not, or strong sometimes. A lot of time the polarity was reversed. Not much to say about my new antenna!? I'm afraid to think that the old was better(15 el-BVO)! Let's time to decide and contest activity!

Very good conditions in the morning leg, strong signals with little QSB, much harder after 15Z in the afternoon, the band became a noise desert for us.

Thanks for nice QSO's and see you all in next event ! Thanks to Vince IT9CHU that joined me during the CW event. IC706MKIIG 8877 4 X 10 DK7ZB LNA MGF4919G, RX FT1000MP + Transverter + PERSEUS SDR tested for the first time in CW EME.

Despite the FT1000MP beated the SDR in quality, and Spectran BF filter was smoother and more confortable for reception for me, it was nice to see the band full of CW traces in the waterfall and check with the tunable filter of PERSEUS all the signals with a simple mouse "click".

Hello Peter and all,

thank you very much for nice eme activity, during last

Dubus eme event. After april where i was not active due

the annual Italian eme meeting and may when due some football

commitment i was active just in one leg, at least on june i was on

about full time.I have stopped around 1605 U.T.C., due no takers. I found

really good activity if compared with some other month. In the morning i

worked most of my score, with 11 stations in the 1st leg. About all signals

were heard at good/strong level. Unfortunately no Asian or African stations

in my log and only one US (K9DX) was heard and worked.

Anyway it was really pure fun. I wish to work all of you in july event.

Hi EME'ers,

... unfortunately I cannot report any completed contact, therefore I'm surely the 'top looser`' with 0 points, of this - my first participation in a EME-CW - contest. Every begin is rocky, HI.

During the first (early morning) part I heard quite well YO2AMU, SV1BTR, F1FLA, OZ1HNE and others. I tried some QSO's, but with no success. I think, my antenna gain is still too small (HI, a small pistol station 4 x 7 el. H, 750 W). But with 2 of the a.m. stations I had problems with their time disciplines.

One (strong) station didnot take any care of beginning (at .00 at even / odd) and also not of lenght of intervalls (30, 60, 120 sec.), another one had a time delay of 14 sec. So no chance to call/work these in due (agreed/standardized) times.

At the second part of contest sun-noise made any try worthless.

But I hope, next time the things will running better for me.

I'm interested, if other stations did hear me?

73 till next DUBUS CW contest

Nice signals, but plenty of cross polarization for me this time.

My moonrise window will now be somewhat limited due to the heavy foilage on the trees.

But this weekend the effect was limited and I had good results on moonrise.

I thinks this was my top scrore so far in the CW events. :-))

Special thanks to K5QE for coming on, and also to Dave W5UN who switched from JT65B

to CW when I called him.

Hi All,

I found condx in 2m-DUBUS ACTIVITY rather good. Well, sun was a bit close and noisy but

signals were loud enough to copy easy. Lost a lot of time calling stations without

reply or QRZ? Spent alot of time calling IT9CJC who had very loud sigs but no reaction

from him.

Others called but not copy my sigs were DK3EE, F0CXO and OK1MS. Many

more stations heard.

Unfortunately I could only make it for the 2nd window of the DUBUS ACTIVITY

and then activity was low for the first 2 hours. After 2 hours the band began to fill

slowly.

Here my small log (I think thats 250 points)

26th of April , 1540 utc , OZ1HNE O/O

1750 utc LA8YB O/O

I think John (K9DX) enjoyed his pile-up as an "rare" US-station...

Cant make it for the next DUBUS event as I am travelling.

Hi Peter

Thanks for the nice CW EME contact, really good signal from you. Better conditions in the morning leg, but with fast and deep fading affecting all EME signals, few stations.
A worse conditions for me in the afternoon, strong Faraday rotation, a problem for me working only Hpol, but more stations active. Heard, called but not worked, YO2AMU, G4ZFJ.
LNA died suddenly at 7:00 Z, then some hours of QRT to get it fixed.

Here my log for this April 26 DUBUS EME event.

Only a short window in eastern VK this time:

0530 - 0730 UTC in the first time slot.

Conditions difficult with gale force winds and occasional

horizontal showers.

Worked: OZ1HNE and SM2CEW.

Called LA8YB many times without any reply.

Also heard good signals from DK3EE.

2 QSO x 10 x 2 mult = 40p

The next DUBUS event on 23 May has an even shorter VK window,

0400 - 0510 UTC, so hardly worth switching on the equipment!

I guess I can understand many EU stations not wanting to be QRV

from, say, 0300, which would obviously suit VK better.

Hi ALL,

Very poor performance of my station (unexpected high SWR: 1,6) and poor

activity (or lets better say low number of CQ-CALLING stations; I think activity was OK) kept my score low.

I heard many stations calling others but never heard them calling CQ themselves.

Others I called but not even got a QRZ (F1FLA, F0CXO, IK1FJI, DK3EE).

The problem of the relativly high SWR might be bad connector or water (?) ?

In the Feb acitvity test everything was OK but since that time we had

plenty of snow and winds...

Heard were IT9CJC, LZ1DP, F0CXO, F1FLA, JH0WJF, DK3EE, SM7GVF,

I didn't knew that my qso with IK1FJI (539/539)will be the last in the second slot. I continued to try a qso with K5QE (sometimes peacking up to S-3) and I lost more than an hour calling him without any result. Maybe polarity was changed to vertical because I heard permanently OZ1HNE, F1FLA and...K5QE. All the time in the second time slot I did not hear my echoes. An hour before finish I gave -up and I went to see my favourite TV show. What a big event was in february 7 !!!

Hello 2m EME Friends

I was active for 1.5 hrs today (3/1/09) on 2m cw, random, unassisted &

completed 6 QSOs. Condx were mixed with some stations strong & some vy weak

with lots of deep QSB. So, sri for sending a lot or QRZs at times. All

were horiz polarity on Tx & Rx. Vertical polarity was too noisy for rcv.

Here's my results, all in response to my CQs

1750 - 1757z IK1FJI O/R (sent) / RO (rcv'd)

1758 - 1804z K9DX O/R / RO

1805 - 1810z LA8YB O/R / RO

1814 - 1825z IK2DDR RO / O/R

1827 - 1835z F0CXO O/R / RO

1858 - 1918z SM2CEW O/R / RO

Total score - 6 QSOs x 10 pts x 6 multiplier = 360 pts

Hi Peter...I am VERY glad that I was able to work you. You have always come up and worked me in our contests....I feel obligated to help you when I can. You were marginal during our contact. It took me a while to get your call, even though I knew to be looking for you. I only worked 4 stations

I heard K9DX calling CQ for over 30 minutes, but he never could hear me.

I called CQ a lot and I tuned around a lot too....the whole 3 hours. I did not find / hear Francesco. That is too bad as he also sent me a reminder to be on. I guess that I owe him one.

Thanks again for the reminder and the QSO....

This was fun! Good activity, and fair conditions. I had some rime frost on my

antennas for the 1st leg, and could really sense that the array was not performing

as it should. Better the 2nd leg, most of the rime had gone, and the SWR was again

reasonable. Special thanks to K5QE and K9DX for coming on during the 2nd leg, together

with K6PF giving us super signals from NA.

Hi ALL,

After almost 1 year of absence of EME I made a few contacts in the

DUBUS activity weekend. Only Europeans worked, where was JAPAN and

Oceania?

Found condx good. Wkd 10 stations (others heard, i.e. I3EVK, F0CXO, PA0JMV and more).

Got the feeling some contacts were arranged via CHATROOM during the event.

Maybe I am wrong, I just made some "strange observations" when turning my

VFO over the band. I hope DUBUS TESTs will remain pure random in the future.

Hi Peter

Thanks for your call during the Event, you had strong signal !

Just back on EME after 2.5 months stop for antennas mantainance.

Nice the whole weekend, signals not particularly strong but stable and good activity: despite many EME friends often active during the Events are missing in the log, best score ever for us in a Dubus EME event.

13 CW QSO's within the two legs plus others with strong signals during the weekend. Nice to hear CW EME window so crowd !

Missing QSO's with US stations, we had to stop earlier due to an heavvy rain thunderstorm.

Thanks to all for the nice contacts and in particular to PA0JMV Joop, YO2AMU Doru, I3EVK Bruno, and PI9CAM team operated by PE1L Rene, for the nice new inits on CW EME. See you all in the next events.

Very nice activity, good conditions having own echoes all the time. Heard and called OH6CH with excellent signals. Low activity from JA. To have better performance i did some changements regarding the connexion between my TR144 transverter and the IF part as FT920 + switch board filters 400/250 Hz BW.The DSP from my FT920 was very usefull.Finising an EME qso ,a lot of operators does not listen the own frequency and call CQ. Except SM2CEW who pay attention if anybody is calling him!Try to watch up on your frequency! Always somebody is there!!!Nice to have qso with Mario,I1ANP and IT9CJC! Both with very nice signals!

CU in March for another fine Event!Maybe in the next Event we will have the surprise to work Australia

Hello all&.
I haven t been able to join the DUBUS events for almost a year now. QRL during weekends is not so good and missing a lot but I m  working on time management to balance the time spent on QRL, family and radio. So I spent the Saturday evening in my shack working on some projects and the solder iron was smoking. I also made one digital QSO as I wanted to QSO the Dwingeloo dish activated by PE1L. He was also on in CW but was too late for that so that s for a next time. Oeps&.DUBUS event&.second slot&almost forgot.

But turned over the band and heard amazing echo s from Tom, DK3EE, and could not resist to call him, in spite of the also loud tropo. So I worked one QSO:

08/02/2009 00:18 DK3EE           JO41GU  RO       O        2 m.   CW                209

1 QSO x 10 x 1 = 10p

Before I calling Tom, I heard Valter, IK1FJI, with good signals also. Tom had a few calls so I waited for 10 min. or so. After Tom I made one round over the band and heard Stan, OK1MS. Also parts of others callsigns but I decided to go QRT as I had to get up early again.

I was looking for 8J1AXA

Sounded like the keying as from G3ZIG in one transmission i found when

Thought i heard F0CXO in the end of activity slot but?

This was the end of single yagi operation. Next time with a second antenna

Hello 2m EME Friends:

I was QRV for 2 hours on 8 Feb & had VY poor condx. Although the event

started at 2300z on 7 Feb, I didn't hv moonrise until abt 2345z. Had vy

noisy condx, even up to 20 deg EL. Horiz polarity was noisy & vertical pol

was extremely bad & not usuable. Usually, EU comes in vertical fm moonrise

sending so many QRZs. All QSOs were horiz pol on tx & rx. 5 out of 6 QSOs

Hello Peter and all,

here my Dubus 2m eme activity event report.

Unfortunately i was active only on second window, due football commitments.

I found an extremely high activity and very good conditions, with lot of

strong signals.

My qso/rate was really extremely good on 1st hour (23:00-24:00), where i

worked 8 stations.

I'm really sorry to have lost some other good station, maybe active only on

1st window, but at

least i'm really satysfied about my score. Each qso was really pure fun.

I heard for the second month WB2RVX that i wish to work soon, maybe untill

next event.

As told by Wolfgang,DL5MAE, i wish that the event could maintain the "Only

Random status", maybe someone

of us as forgot it.

Thanks to all the worked stations and see you on next event.

Hello 2m EME Friends:

After not being QRV for quite awhile due to QRL demands, I was glad to be

QRV for about 2.5 hrs tonite (1/11/09 fm 0330-0600z) during the DUBUS

activity period.  Worked 7 stations on random.  Had vy hi noise level due to

warm dry winds & lots of QSB on most signals so vy pleased to work the

stations that I did.  Fortunately, by 0330z, my EL was >20 deg so that

helped lower the terrestrial noise.  A couple of times I called CQ & seemed

like a pile-up of stations calling me.  Sri I had so much trouble copying

many of them.

Here's list of stations worked.  All were horizontal polarity on TX & RX.

0333 - 0339z    LA8YB        RO (sent) - O/R (rcv'd).  Vy nice signal

0348 - 0355z    YO2AMU    O/R - RO

Hello Peter and all,

the first activity event of new year is gone.

I have had the pleasure to be active on both windows.

On first, at the beginning, i found a big distortion,

on the correspondents signals. After some minutes, conditions

has becomed very good, with strong signals and own echoes.

Is really fantastic to see on my Linrad waterfool, the band between 144.040

and 144.060, with lot of traces and good activity. I know that someone, like

our good friends like, LZ2US,SV1BTR,IK3MAC,SP7DCS,PA3CWN,OZ1HNE,K9MRI

(excuse me if

i'm forgetting someone), has had good reasons to justify the absence.

Someone of them is rebuilding the array, someone is changing qth and Chris,

for

example, always active, has had some antenna problem, due bad weather.

Anyway i'm sure we could hear someone of those good stations, since the

february event.

At least i worked 10 stations on 1st window and 4 stations on 2nd.

Nice to see a couple of US friends in my log. Unfortunately Joe, K9MRI, one

of my 1st qso

in 1991 and always present, during these EVENTS, is in the list of those

guys, not active

due ice on the array. We could hear on february, Joe. Another US station was

heard and called,

WB2RVX on 144.057, unfortunately with bad results. We could work on next

time.

Thank you one more time to Dubus,Peter,Hakan and all those guys that are in

the group of the

organizers.

We are waiting some other newcomer, active on next months.

Thanks to all the partecipants and see you again on 2m CW eme.

Hello All,

I was QRV in both legs of this last Dubus Event in 2008 and

found good signals of IK1FJI and IK2DDR and worked both of

them. Heard very shortly K9MRI who was in qso with Valter,

but was called by Francesco and did not hear him anymore after

this. Also have been calling to Marcello IT9CJC the same time

as Francesco, but obviously Faraday was playing as Marcello

could not hear both of us (or maybe some QRM ? )

I had from time to time loud echoes but very low activity.

In the 2nd leg I only heard Joachim  DK3NG calling CQ , but

could not see and hear his EME trace in Spectran.

About halftime in 2nd leg the sigs came up and when listening to

DK3NG suddenly YO2AMU showed up and at first shot

Doru returned and the qso was rapidly finished. The same with

Stan as OK1MS was very good copy and also was Tom DK3EE

who were worked.    Just before end time I heard Finn LA8YB

calling CQ but condx were strange and had to put some effort

to get his attention. But we succeeded and finished up with a

total of 6 qso's this Event.

Probably the last Event in classB for me, because next week

start to dismantle my 4 yagi array which is for sale.

Anyone interested in 4x9 ele DK7ZB can drop me an email.

I will rebuild and plans will most likely be with 1 yagi in the future

for 2m EME.

Thanks All for the fun and see you back in 2009 but will be

somewhat more challenging !!

I wish Everyone a Merry Xmas and a very happy New Year !!

OZ1HNE

Hello Peter,

My log for December:

My call: OZ1HNE

I was only QRV for a very short time in the second part of the December DUBUS CW EME event due to some

Christmas activities. I found very good conditions with great signals from the 3 stations I worked in short time:

13/12 2008  1737 UTC.  JR3REX   RO/RO  10p  1 multip.

13/12 2008  1800 UTC.  OK1MS   RO/RO  10p  1 multip.

13/12 2008  1809 UTC.  YO2AMU RO/RO 10p   1 multip.

Total: 30p x 3 multip. = 90 points.

Thanks to all for the EME QSO's in the DUBUS CW EME event 2008, it was all great fun and I look very much forward

to hear all the CW signals from the moon again in 2009.

I have to thanks all the people behind this fine CW EME event.

Merry Christmas and a Healty Happy New Year to you and yours.

We have received a tremendous amount of wet sticky snow during the last 24

hours, so it is impossible for me to come on any band for some EME fun this

weekend. Antennas are unusable.

Have fun, use the extreme perigee to the fullest, and don't go too crazy

under the full moon..!

PA3CWNHello all

I was qrv in both legs, but experienced some troubles with my power output.

It seemed that the driver did not function right and so connected the ft100

which gave some less output from the gs35b.

Condx were variable in the first leg with lots of qsb. Time to time strong

signals combined with deep qsb.

I gave CQ only for a short while because of my problems but had a response

from Francesco ! Thanks and nice to work you again :-)

In the second leg I found condx much better and heard LZ1DP with strong

signals. I only got few times QRZ and then LZ1DP dissappeared and not

heard anymore. A pity because it would have been a new init.

I was astonished by the sigs from Valter IK1FJI!! Very strong and nice to

hear the keying from Valter so well.

I also have called K9MRI, who was not that strong and got only QRZ.

By the time I thought I heard my callsign, the power fell down and did

not finish the contact.

I made a total of 8 qsoos in both legs and despite the problems I am

pleased with this result. The array still seems to work right.

Ciao to all.

Unfortunately on last august Dubus 2m cw activity event, i was active

only on 1st window, because on 2nd i was busy with my other hobby

(football coach).Although i like to stay with my team, i'm sorry to have

lost the possibility to work some other of you, this morning. I wish to

work you all again, on one of next days. Thank you very much to all for

nice partecipation. For me is always a pleasure to work you on cw eme.

I was not lucky with LZ1DP that i heard very strong in qso, with

someone, but i wasn't able to find him later in somewhere.

I'm really happy to work my good friend Valter, IK1FJI that is back

with his "old" very strong signal. Congrats Valter.

Greetings gentlemen !

Although this time condx seemed to be worse compared to the previous time I participated in the DUBUS Activity Event, I had the chance to copy partially many stations, although I did not have the chance to establish a QSO with them. Those were IK2DDR, LA8YB, SP7DCS and some others that I did not have sufficient time to acknowledge them and call them back.

It was a great pleasure of mine to work Jorgen OZ1HNE and some minutes afterwards I wkd for the first time IK3MAC, who was very strong - it felt like working a european station on HF.

During the 2nd leg, I wkd Jimmy SV1BTR after many calls since he seemed to have a big pileup so it took a while till I got through.

I did enjoy this Activity Event A LOT and I am looking so much forward to the next one to meet you all !

Till then I wish you a great summer with lots of DX and fun !

Hello all,

what beautiful Activity event. I found a very high activity and about

very good conditions, particularily on 2nd window. I worked a total of

18 stations, but i was very surprised to work this time 4 US friends.

I worked Dave, W5UN on CW, after a very long time. I have had my own

echoes, about on full time and in some moments really strong (539).

Thanks to all. Sorry if have not work someone of you, like Victoria,

SV2KBS. Maybe we could work today. I'll make some other noise on

the Moon.

Thank you one more time to the Dubus organizers for their idea

to setup these Activity Events.

P.s. this week i had the pleasure to have a special guest, here

at my home on july 3. He was OZ4MM, Stig with family. I have worked

him many times on 2m eme, but this was our first meeting.

In these moments we understand how great is our hobby that permits us

to have good friends untill that we know in person.

Hello All,

I was partially qrv in the first window and found condx not really good.

The stations heard were worked and these were only three, but I was

not qrv for the full time.

The second window however I discovered lots of activity

and called Jimmy immediately, but he had a huge pile up, so started

CQ myself and very soon was answered by Chris SP7DCS :-)

I stopped CQ because a nasty whistle started upon my qrg and so

walked around the band. Sigs were good from time to time, but much

fast and deep qsb. I worked some 4 stations more thereafter and

was glad with a total of 8 stations in this Dubus event !

It was very nice to see so much participation from the USA and

have called several, but condx were not ideal between NA and Eu

from here.

Called and heard responding was Franscesco IK2DDR, but sigs

went rapidly down, so could not finish the qso and have searched

the band later on for Francesco, but only few sigs left than.

It took me quite some time to get the callsign out of the noise from

Christian F0CXO although his sigs good were, but every time

the callsign came he went in qsb so was left with a F and knowing

the X, but want to hear the complete callsign.

I also got lack of concentration and had to shake my head a few

times to stay alert. Maybe because the noise level was pretty high

especially at the 2nd window making the background sounding

pretty aggressive which I noticed, makes me tiring listening.

I also called K9DX but got qrz and not heard thereafter.

It was a pleasure to see much activity :-)

Hi EME'ers

I was only QRV in the first part of July DUBUS CW EME Event on 144 MHz because our local radioclub should be active from a little hill in the VHF Field-Day contest and few things to prepare. I found very stabil polarity but I have never heard so deep QSB on the signals before !!!! Strong signals like 539 could completly disappear and be back again in short time. I am very glad to read in the reports that other stations have seem the same kind of QSB, and not only a local phenomenon (-; Very nice to hear so good activity on the band and thanks to all for the QSO's and one new initial with F5JNX .It was all great fun as always and I look forward to next DUBUS CW EME Event in August.

Hello to all

During the event i dont found good conditions at all, the signals were up and down with fast qsb...

Heard somethimes my own echo but less strong than usually, I heard PA3CWN very weak, instead of last sunday we had a good qso with very nice signal.I call cq for long time so i missed easy stations to work with no problem Ie W5UN, K9MRI and others.

Anywhere i worked 12 stations with no full time qrv...So seems my 4 short yagi worked quite well.

Hello 2m EME Friends:

I was only able to be QRV fm 1730 - 1830z today during the DUBUS activity period. Worked 3 stations rather quickly with nice signals but lots of QSB & noise. All were vertical polarity for tx & rx. Here's my short list:

1740-1745z K9DX RO sent, O/R rcv'd, initial #217 (vy gud signal)

1758-1804z SP7DCS O/R sent, RO rcv'd (gud signal)

1806-1812z IK2DDR O/R sent, RO rcv'd (one of the best copies I've had fm Francesco)

30p x 3 mult = 90p

Tried a sked at 1830z with SV2KBS but had hi noise hr & Victoria only had 8-12 degrees EL so lot's of noise thr also. Nil on both sides.

Enjoyed being active agn even for only a short while.

Weather prevented operation in the second period but in the first, using my 10m long yagi at about 18m, I worked IK3MAC with amazing signals from him, 539. I then worked LA8YB again with nice sgnals, which I think is an initial, not sure. I heard and called OZ1HNE. This was on the first ground lobe up to about 6 degrees, on the second lobe at about 12 degrees I heard OZ1HNE again, also F3VS and SP7DCS but too weak to call.

20p x 2 mult = 40p

Thanks for the QSOs and hope to be there next time with the dish which gives me elevation and polarity change.

I send you my final Dubus 2m cw activity event log, right after the end

of the 1st window, because i could not be active on 2nd, due soccer

commitments (new team presentation).

This morning i found really beautifull and rare conditions from my QTH.

I heard my echoes quite stable and strong as heard just a couple of

times, since i have installed my 4X19LLY array .

This good conditions was confirmed by the common high level of the

signal of the worked/heard stations.

I'm sorry to have not the possibility to be active on 2nd window,

because if conditions are like in the 1st.........

I was qrv in both passes of the Dubus events on Saturday

and found condx not very good. It was not the fact that

signals were no good, but I had Faraday lockout in both

passes for a long time.

In the first pass 2 stations were worked; LA8YB and DK3EE

both with loud signals. Tom amazingly loud with almost no tropo!

I called Chris SP7DCS and hrd him returning, but because of

technical problems at Chris' side, I lost his signals.

At start of the 2nd pass I heard F3VS amazingly loud working

Christian F0CXO, but I could not get the attention on his

CQ thereafter, neither that of Jurgen PE1LWT who was also

calling. It is the 2nd time I experience this with F3VS and do

not have the slightest clou what this can be?

After that I worked immediately Jorgen OZ1HNE with very fine

signals, but after our qso have heard long time nothing except

for the big guns W5UN, LA8YB and my own echo.

Just 20 minutes before end time Sigs came in all together and

I was able to work Chris SP7DCS for compensating the earlier

lost contact.

I worked 5 stations in total and have heard several others, but

not as much as I have heard before. I guess I had an off day

and also my own cq's gave no result, but it was a real pleasure

again and will be qrv next month.

Greetings gentlemen !

I unfortunately missed almost the half 1st leg of the event because I was travelling - however since I got home I switched everything on at once and stayed QRV full time.
This time I found things much more difficult compared to the European EME Contest - It was hard for me to find the signals and I managed to establish only two QSOs

Throughout the Activity Event I was using Jurgen's OZ1HNE signals as a beacon - FB Jurgen for your booming signal !
I also easily copied Finn at the 2nd leg. Beautiful signal, fast QSO - Mange takk skal du ha for en hyggelig QSO !
Apart from this I had the chance to partially copy a couple of french stations as well as IK2DDR -I believe- however they faded away before I had the chance to fully acknowledge them and call them back.
Now I am looking forward for more activity and get the most of what I can from my EME setup !

My compliments to all of the participants !!

Hello All,

I was qrv in both legs for almost the full time and found

condx to be good at 1st leg but much qsb on the strong

signals.

The second leg was not that good at my side. Less activity

and much qrm from the neighbourhood gave only 1 qso

more.

I have been calling CQ several times for periods of almost

an hour and Peter returned at my CQ (again :-) ), so calling

CQ helped this day !

The signal from Jorgen was the most constant in both legs

and guess Jorgen switched pol on a regular base.

I had lots of troubles with the signal of Alex which was very

close to a birdie, but was able to copy all the info and very

glad to work Alex from KO40.

I worked these fine 6 stations with UFB operating practice:

A terrible snow storm rolled into Southern Ontario just in time for the
DUBUS event.  I had an S-7 noise level from precipitation during the
complete NA window so it was a complete bust for me. I sat for 3 hours
hoping for a break in the noise but it was not to be.
In the meantime I have also come to the conclusion that my RX system has
suffered some degradation so I am investigating.  Hopefully all will be
well for the next event.

During this event, i was active full time on 1st slot and just about 1 hour

on 2nd, due some commitment. Anyway i have enjoyed the cw activity and the good new

is that i have worked on random and for the 1st time on eme, the Sicily is.

I worked IT9CJC. It was really a good surprise to hear his call. Never worked him before on tropo or whatever. Marcello has now a team composed, by himself and a

couple of other operators. I wish that some other, following IT9CJC, example, will give us the pleasure to be present to our CW eme events. About the conditions, i found moments with good signals and strong own echo and others with some Faraday rotation.

Here my result in 4 hours of activity:

Hi,

As I wrote yesteday, I was qrv with 15 yagis (one yagi is broken) and

lower power due to bigger SWR.

Yesterday Murphy visit (5h to repair my PA) was not the last one...

After first pass gs35b tube went dead and I had to replace it.

Morover during second pass I had small damage in power supply and lost

some time repair also this issue;)

Anyway I worked following stations on 2m CW random. Condx were difficult

Hello All,

I was only able to join March 144Mhz Dubus event for a total of two hours. At least during the initial half hour of first window propagation was really poor. There was a propagation improvement during second slot but generally conditions here deteriorated as a whispering FM mode conversation showed up on 050:

- I am now crawling behind the bushes next to the olive tree, watch out don’t shoot me.

- Just checked the droppings of the bird, they are still warm, it should be close by….

and on and on…. for a long time; I don’t think they ever got the bird….

In between this mess I worked the following excellent EMEers that can break through any interference:

SV1BTR, LA8YB, SP7DCS, OK1MS

SV1BTR was qrv for a total of 4.5 hrs in the DUBUS 2m cw eme activity event of March.

Conditions were not good. 4db more noise due to Sun proximity 10 degrees away, especially in 1st pass. All signals and echoes suffering from deep qsb.

Hunters shooting non-stop but i shoot at the moon also, so that makes us colleagues i guess:-)

With my 21.5dbd 2m array despite bad propagation, smallest station worked once more was ON7EH with 12el. and 250w. Michel was coming in 529 on peaks! New initials with IT9CJC and PI9CM, no idea what they are running.

I would like to thank all European & Japanese stations who honored the event and gave me the pleasure to work them!

Here, as usual my final result, of this february DUBUS 2m CW EME EVENT.

I found an extremely good activity and i appreciate the presence of new

stations, like PE1BTX and OK1KKD. I wish that the number of

partecipants, improves with spring time, since march event.

Conditions, despite the excellent partecipation, were very bad until

last hour of the event, where all signals were very strong .

I had lot of signals on my LINRAD WATERFOOL, but sometimes, although

a big trace, i had really difficults to decode who was.

Anyway, many thanks to all and see you on next march event.

A few hours before the Dubus Events I became ill and
